COLD is our brand new world-first hybrid of loose and liquid chalk, it gives you the cooling and drying effect of a liquid chalk but in a loose format! This performance-focused product is like no other on the market, with only sustainably-derived ingredients that are good for you, your climbing, and the planet.

  • COLD is our brand new world-first hybrid of loose and liquid chalk, it gives you the cooling and drying effect of a liquid chalk but in a loose format! Use directly for concentrated application or crush up 1:1 with regular chalk in your chalk bag to COOL the entire bag down for that COLD effect every time you dip it. This is not a gimmick, it’s actually game changing!

  • There are two tins, one with 60g and one with 140g of COLD, these are separated into 30g cubes. One of these cubes crushed up with regular GEKCO loose chalk will last at least a whole session. This largely depends on the temperature and how air-tight your chalk bag is. On 25-30°C days it’ll last 8 hours or so, on 0°C days it’ll last 3 days or so, sometimes longer if your chalk bag is quite airtight.

  • It’s messier than a chalk ball but less messy than fine loose chalk. If you’re looking for the lowest mess chalk experience then check out our Liquid Chalk, only needing to apply a droplet per chalking!

  • It’s a world-first combination/hybrid of the two, giving you the cooling and drying effect of our liquid chalk but in a loose format.

  • Just our same great GEKCO seawater processed magnesium carbonate and ethanol - exactly the same as what’s in our liquid chalk! Absolutely no additives, menthol, drying agents or nasty chemicals.

  • You can treat it as that but it’s definitely much more than that! Chunky chalk doesn’t tend to cool and dry your hands whereas this does!

  • COLD performs exceptionally across all rock and conditions, when you might see less fundamental gains is in those with dry skin and on a freezing cold day. In this case you might not need your hands to get even colder and drier. We’ve found for those that are sweaty, it’s effective even in the coldest temperatures since your hands will sweat when they’re being used.

  • Of course, experiment with combinations to your heart’s content. But we recommend not overdoing applications as too many layers of chalk can slip past itself in turn reducing friction.

  • According to IFSC rules, competitors are allowed loose or liquid chalk that is commercially available as long as it does not transfer residue to the holds (aside from the chalk itself). As COLD is made of just seawater processed magnesium carbonate and ethanol, there will be no residue other than chalk transferred, so it's safe to use in comps! Technically this rule means basically all liquid chalk aside from ours isn’t allowed? Hmmmm

  • It’ll cool your skin by 5°C (9°F) or so (doesn’t sound like a lot, but trust us, it is) from a SINGLE application and if you keep your hand(s) in your chalk bag they’ll get even COLDER! If you’ve kept your COLD in the fridge then that bag will be crispy COLD!
