SKIN - HOW TO USE

So you’ve bought some GEKCO SKIN and you’re wondering what the best ways to use it are, this is the page to find out!

We need to break it down into skin types before you can get the best out of the product.

  1. Do you find yourself firing (slipping) off holds, especially wood and plastic due to your skin being too dry? Do you get splits and struggle the most during winter. You’re dry skinned. Read the Dry Skin section.

  2. Do you find yourself sweating constantly, always reapplying chalk and firing off anything and everything and looking down at your hands to find yourself with sweaty tips? You’re sweaty skinned. Read the Sweaty Skin section.

  3. Do you find you don’t need to chalk up much, but you’re not sweating either? You have Perfect Skin (yes I am jealous), read the Perfect Skin section.

Dry skin

Best time to use GEKCO SKIN would be right at the start of your session, before chalking up. Simply apply a pea size amount onto your palm and rub it in. Wait for it to go tacky and then that’s when you apply chalk. The chalk will adhere better to your skin this way and GEKCO SKIN will hydrate your skin slightly, just enough to reduce dry fires. Reapply as needed. If you find your skin feeling lubey/slippy then you’ve used too much, just wipe your hands with a towel and apply chalk plenty until it feels sticky again.

If your skin has split then apply plenty of GEKCO SKIN before bed to hydrate the skin, the product contains a compound already present in the skin that aids in wound healing. This will improve healing speed and over time, across weeks of use will hydrate your skin and reduce splitting overall. Skin pliability and thickness is increased slowly over time.

Sweaty skin

Best time to use GEKCO SKIN would be after climbing to help in recovery from the drying effects of chalk, use very little to aim for skin healing without excessive hydration. GEKCO SKIN contains a compound already present in the skin that aids in wound healing, it is especially useful if you have any torn skin/tips to aid with wound healing. Apply before bed every night to aid with skin regeneration.

If you find yourself firing off holds on a particularly dry day then apply GEKCO SKIN at the start of the session, one pump and spread across the hands. Allow to soak in and go tacky, when it’s most tacky, apply chalk. This will increase the hydration of your skin for that session and improve chalk adherence.
